Getting Ready for Arrowhead

Laneman-01I’m spending most of today (Sunday) getting the RV packed for the trip to Arrowhead on Tuesday.  I’ll be shutting down the computer and printer shortly so I can take them as well, so there won’t be any further updates to the VASkeet.org website until I return to Herndon.  Provided I can find some internet service for my iPhone, I am able to update the VSSA Facebook page, so check there for any additional information, including updates from Becky and the ladies at the registration desk.  See you all in a few days at Arrowhead!  -Lane Hartle

Ammo and Supplies at State Shoot

Joe Gardner of Crow Shooting Supply will be at Arrowhead for the State Shoot on Friday, August 17, from approximately 9am-3pm.  He will not be able to bring as much inventory as in the past, so he recommends the best way to get what you need is to e-mail him with your order in advance.  Email Joe your order at joe.gardner@crowshootingsupply.com.

In your email, make sure to include a phone number where you can be reached, in case Joe has any questions regarding your order.  He will review your pre-order and have it ready for pick up, and he will also let you know if he is out of a requested item and recommend a possible substitution.

The main difference this year is all purchases have to be run through Arrowhead Gun Club for sales tax purposes, so Virginia sales tax will be charged for every order.  Cash (preferred) or personal checks only, no credit cards.  If paying by check, make check payable to Arrowhead Gun Club.  See you at Arrowhead!

Piedmont Twyman and Labor Day Shoots

Similar to the two shoots recently held at the Arlington-Fairfax Izaak Walton club, Piedmont will be hosting two shoots on the same weekend.

First is the Labor Day Open, Aug 31-Sep 2, with doubles on Friday and the four main guns on Saturday and Sunday.  Click HERE to see the flyer for this shoot.

Also on Saturday and Sunday, they will be hosting the Twyman Open, which is the first 500-target 28 gauge event in the Mid-Atlantic region.  This is a great opportunity for shooters to post a score for the newly established NSSA 500 target world record.  This will be a separate event from the Labor Day Open, so shooters are welcome to shoot in both shoots or just one.  Click HERE to see the Twyman Open flyer.
