President’s Message - 2016

Well skeet shooters, it is time to start thinking about the new season. Many of you have been loading shells during the winter, so that you will have a large stockpile when you start shooting in the spring. And we now have our new schedule and I would like to thank the club reps for working together to make this happen. There is always some give and take between the club reps to work out our schedule.

This year, our Virginia State Skeet Shoot will be held at Arrowhead Gun Club, while Conservation Park of Virginia (aka Richmond Gun Club) will again host the Elite Arms/Kolar Open. While shooting has declined all over the country, Virginia has remained one of the states where shooting has declined very little. Our gun clubs have done a good job of holding costs down and putting on good shoots.

I hope that everyone has taken the referees test and will offer to ref at your local club. This is still one of the major costs of putting on a shoot and all help is greatly appreciated. Hope to see you at the shoots this year and hope that you all shoot well.

Charles Daniel, VSSA President
